A model from Mexico who went missing Oct. 15 has been found at the Bellevue Hospital psychiatric ward.

Geraldine Mendez is alert and conscious. Her father, Hugo Mendez, recognized her at the hospital. The two hugged each other while both father and daughter sobbed.

The 20-year-old arrived in New York City in August to do some fashion shows, according to her father, who flew in from Mexico to help find her. She was last seen leaving her Bushwick apartment the morning of Oct. 15.

Friends and family were knocking on doors through the neighborhood, seeking any leads during the time of her disappearance.

Mendez's friends call her a "happy hippie" because of her creative nature. She's described as a social butterfly, always hanging out with different types of people.
