The actor who portrayed Lenny on "Laverne & Shirley" and David St. Hubbins in "This Is Spinal Tap" was hospitalized after being struck by a car on the Upper West Side on Tuesday afternoon, sources said.

Michael McKean, 64, suffered a broken leg and facial lacerations when a car jumped the curb at 86th Street and Broadway, according to sources.  He was being treated at St. Luke's-Roosevelt Hospital

McKean lives on the Upper West Side with actress wife Annette O'Toole, and currently stars in "The Best Man" on Broadway. His manager told reporters McKean had never missed a show until Tuesday night.

McKean,  a New York City native, also did a brief stint as cast member on SNL in 1994. In 2003, he reunited with Spinal Tap band mate and longtime collaborator Christopher Guest in “A Mighty Wind.”
