Singer Lady Gaga gestures at the game between the San Diego Padres and the New York Mets at Citi Field on June 10, 2010 in the Flushing neighborhood of the Queens borough of New York City.
Take a back seat Lady. Literally.
But that didn’t stop the artist, known for her quirky costumes and videos, from getting a luxurious box at Citi Field.
The only problem is that the box belongs to well-known Mets enthusiast Jerry Seinfeld.
A team spokesperson said “The use of Jerry Seinfeld’s suite was unauthorized and unknown to him at the time.”
Mets Media Director Jay Horwitz told NBCNewYork that the Amazins are in Baltimore now, but released a statement saying: “We deeply regret that Jerry Seinfeld has been associated with this matter and have apologized to him…we made a quick decision to place Lady Gaga and her group in a private suite because of issues related to her visit.”
The issues of course were the boos, the fingers, and the flashing.
Meanwhile Seinfeld's rep released a typically funny statement from the comedian:
“The Seinfelds take an optimistic view of Lady Gaga's gesture as a sign that she wants the Mets to be in first place as badly as they do.”
