Screams for Help Ignored on Metro-North: Police

Police say a woman who accused a Metro-North Railroad employee of public indecency says no one stepped forward when she screamed for help.

The Connecticut Post reports that a 33-year-old medical researcher who is five months pregnant says she fell asleep on Jan. 28 and awoke to see Manny Ramos, an engineer trainee, masturbating.

Railroad police said she screamed for other passengers to stop Ramos, but no one helped. As the train stopped at the Fairfield station Ramos bolted out the doorway.

Police say she grabbed his backpack, but he broke free. He was apprehended later near the train station and was suspended by Metro-North.

The 35-year-old Ramos, of Brooklyn, is scheduled to be arraigned in Bridgeport Superior Court on Tuesday. It was not known if he's represented by a lawyer.
