The Metropolitan Museum of Art broke a personal record by welcoming more visitors this past year than ever before.

According to the renowned museum, more than 7.35 million visitors stopped by its three locations — The Met Fifth Avenue, The Met Cloisters and The Met Breuer — during the fiscal year that ended on June 30.

The number of visitors marks the highest fiscal year attendance in the museum’s history.

The attendance could be attributed to the record-breaking attendance for the acclaimed exhibit Michelangelo: Divine Draftsman and Designer, which ran from Nov. 13, 2017 to Feb. 12, 2018 and ushered in 702,516 visitors.

This exhibit was the 10th most visited exhibit ever at the Met.

In addition, other exhibitions that drew high numbers of visitors include Cristobal de Villalpando: Mexican Painter of the Baroque, which had an attendance of 256,339; and David Hockney, with an attendance of 363,877.

According to museum officials, the Costume Institute's Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination, currently on view at The Met Fifth Avenue and The Met Cloisters through Oct. 8, is on track to be one of the Museum's highest attended exhibitions in its history.

Additionally, officials announced that the museum brought over $250 million in philanthropic gifts, membership contributions and government support — the highest amount in recent years.
