GOP Mocks Mayor de Blasio With “Fifty Shades of Bill” Poster

New York State Republicans say Democratic Mayor de Blasio is like the submissive character in "Fifty Shades of Grey," dominated by the Rev. Al Sharpton -- and the group released a fake movie poster to drive home its point.

The GOP tweeted the poster, with "Fifty Shades of Bill" printed in large letters at the top, Tuesday. [[292397211, C]]

The mayor's face is superimposed over an image of the movie's female protagonist. His head rests on Sharpton's shoulder.

Several "Fifty Shades"-inspired phrases appear to the right: "Tied up by his habitual lateness. ... Dominated by the duties of his office. ... Handcuffed by his poor management of the NYPD."

GOP spokesman David Laska says both the "Fifty Shades of Grey" heroine and the mayor have completely ceded control of their respective situations to outside forces.

The mayor's office declined to comment.
