Firefighters are investigating a massive fire that broke out at an apartment complex in Garden City, Long Island Wednesday.

The fire broke out at the Avalon Garden City Complex at about 11 a.m. and quickly engulfed the entire building, police said.

It appears to have been accidentally started by a construction worker, police said. The complex was still under construction.

Over 100 fire personnel from 10 fire departments responded to the blaze.

One fireman was treated and released from a local hospital for an injury to his shoulder.
