A taxi hit and seriously injured an elderly man in a motorized wheelchair on the Upper East Side Monday afternoon, police say.
The man was hit on Park Avenue and East 86th Street, and was taken to New York Hospital in serious condition, FDNY EMS says.
The taxi driver remained at the scene and was being interviewed by police.
The intersection was closed off as police investigated. An empty motorized wheelchair sat in the middle of the street where police had the scene taped off.
