Man Wanted in 16 Armed Robberies in Brooklyn: NYPD

Police are looking for a man wanted in 16 separate armed robberies in Brooklyn.

Armed with a black firearm, the man either approaches the victims as they are about to go into their homes or he forces his way into the homes and confronts them inside, according to the NYPD.

The suspect (sketch below) is between 20 and 30 and is known to wear a green hooded sweatshirt and baseball cap. He was initially wanted in eight separate incidents, but he is now connected to eight more.

Police say he is wanted in the string or robberies, all in East Flatbush between Feb. 15 and June 13. He appears to have picked targets at random, robbing both men and women of varying ages, from 25 to 79. None has been physically hurt so far, police said.

His most recent victim told NBC 4 New York he'd stepped out of his apartment for just a few moments when he returned to find a stranger dressed in black going through his home.

"I said, 'What the hell are you doing there?'" said the victim, who wanted to remain anonymous out of safety concerns. "He pulled out a gun, pointed it at me and said, 'Don't move.' I slammed the door and ran off to call 911."

The victim said the suspect must have been watching his apartment and when he left, the suspect went to the backyard and opened up the window and climbed through a window.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 800-577-TIPS.
