Man Walks up to Subway Rider, Slashes Him Across the Face in Queens: Police

Officials say a subway rider had to be hospitalized with a large gash to his face after a man came up to him in a train car early Sunday morning and slashed him in what police are calling a random attack. 

The 21-year-old victim was texting while sitting on a northbound A train at the Beach 60th Street station in the Rockaways when he was approached by the suspect, according to police.

The suspect took out a razor and slashed the straphanger across the face, police said. He then exited the train and ran away from the station.

Police say this man slashed another man in the face in an unprovoked attack on a subway in Queens.

The victim was taken to an area hospital in stable condition. Police said he had a large laceration to his face.

The 20-something-year-old suspect was last seen wearing a a red, white and blue jacket. 

The NYPD is asking anyone with information about the suspect to call the Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS.
