Flying Can of Soybeans Hits Woman in Face at Store

Police are looking for a Bronx supermarket customer who chucked a can of soybeans into a woman's face when he missed his intended target during an argument inside the store.

The suspect was inside the Compare Food Store at 2080 White Plains Road at about 1:30 p.m. on April 13 in Pelham Parkway when he got into an argument with another man, police say.

The suspect threw a can of soybeans in the man's direction but missed him and the can instead hit another shopper, a 69-year-old woman, in the face.

The woman was taken to Einstein Hospital with swelling to her eye.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Crime Stoppers at 800-577-TIPS.
