A man was arrested after he allegedly threw a woman onto hot coals and stabbed her with a barbecue utensil on Long Island Saturday.

Fredrick Walker, 43, knocked over a grill on Bayview Avenue in Inwood and then allegedly pushed the 56-year old woman onto the hot coals, struck her head against a sidewalk and stabbed her in the neck, police say.

Another man who tried to intervene was also burned by the hot coals, police say. Both victims were treated for cuts and burns.

Walker is being charged with three counts of second-degree assault and third-degree criminal possession of a weapon.

Information on a lawyer for Walker was not immediately available.
