Man Throws Firework Into Marked Police Car, Torching Cruiser: NYPD

Police are looking for a man they say threw a firework into a marked police car early Sunday in Brooklyn, igniting the inside of the cruiser and causing extensive damage.

The man threw the consumer-grade aerial shell firework inside the patrol car, which was parked on Carlton Avenue in Flatbush, around 3:30 a.m., the NYPD said.

It wasn't clear if any officers were inside the patrol car when the man threw the firework. No injuries were reported.

According to The New York Post, police were dispersing a crowd of people who had gotten together for illegal fireworks near Carlton and Lafayette avenues when the man threw the firework into the cruiser.

Police released a photo of the suspect.
