Man Struck by Train in Manhattan Delays Some Trains for Hours

A man was struck by the subway at Union Square in Manhattan Sunday night, and there were significant travel delays as a result.

The FDNY confirmed one person had been transported to Bellevue with serious injuries. Police said the man, 27, had gotten his legs pinned between the platform and a train but was likely to survive his injuries.

The MTA said northbound 4 and 5 trains were running local from Brooklyn Bridge to 42nd Street and bypassing Union Square altogether. There were delays  on 4, 5 and 6 trains.
