Man Struck, Killed by NYC Driver on Upstate Road: Deputies

A 52-year-old man was killed when struck by a car as he walked along a road in upstate New York, authorities said Wednesday.

Theodore Miles Jr. of Amenia was hit at about 8:30 p.m. Tuesday while walking on Route 22 ni his hometown, said Dutchess County deputies.

A 29-year-old New York City man told investigators he tried to swerve his car to avoid hitting Miles.

No charges have been filed.

Miles was taken to Sharon Hospital in nearby Sharon, Connecticut, where he died, deputies said.
