An elderly Manhattan man was struck and killed by an MTA bus in Manhattan Wednesday morning, police said.

The 80-year-old man was attempting to cross Third Avenue at East 20th Street at about 10:30 a.m. when he was hit by the bus, which was going southbound on the avenue, police said.

The bus driver had the green light, and the pedestrian was crossing against the signal, according to police.

The bus remained on the scene, and the victim was taken to Beth Israel Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
