Man Sought in 2 Brooklyn Robberies: Police

Police are looking for a man they say targeted a 64-year-old woman and a 72-year-old woman in two Brooklyn robberies.

Both incidents happened earlier this month in the area of Atlantic Avenue and Linwood Street in East New York, according to authorities.

Police said the first robbery happened on April 14 at about 9 p.m. The suspect allegedly approached the 72-year-old victim from behind and placed an unknown object against her back. He took her purse, which had an undetermined amount of cash and credit cards inside, pushed her to the ground and fled, police said.

The second attempted robbery happened on April 21 at about 6 p.m. when the suspect armed with a knife approached the 64-year-old woman and asked her if she had any money, police said. The suspect punched the woman in the side of the head and attempted to stab her with the knife, but instead slashed her hand as she attempted to block herself, according to police. The suspect got away empty handed and the victim was taken to Jamaica Hospital where she was treated.

Police released a sketch of the suspect (above). Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 800-577-TIPS.
