An argument on a Manhattan subway platform turned violent Sunday when a man with a knife slashed another man in the face, police said.
The 27-year-old victim and a woman were arguing on the downtown 2 platform at the 110th Street subway station shortly after 5 a.m., when the woman left to get another man. That man slashed the victim in the face, according to the NYPD.
The man was taken to Mount Sinai St. Luke' s Hospital. Information about his condition wasn't available.
No arrests have been made.
Police say this is the six stabbing or slashing on the subway system this month.
The NYPD is beefing up subway patrols. Previously, 2,800 officers had been assigned to subway details. The department is training another 1,300 officers who will also patrol the subways.
