NYPD: Man Sitting on Subway Platform Hit by Train

Police say a man who was sitting on a New York City subway train platform with his legs dangling over the edge was struck by a train.

The NYPD says the man was hit by a southbound 1 train on Friday night. He was taken to St. Luke's Hospital in serious condition.

Police say the man was sitting on the end of the platform near the train tunnel at the 145th Street station.

No further information was available.
