A 39-year-old man was shot to death on a Jersey City street Friday night, according to the Hudson County Prosecutor's office.
Officials said that Damien Fields was found with multiple gunshot wounds to his chest on Forrest Street at around 6:30 p.m. and was pronounced dead after being taken to Jersey City Medical Center.
Homicide detectives believe that Fields was sitting on the steps of 327 Forrest Street when he was approached by a man who shot him with a handgun.
