A man was shot in the chest while sitting in his van in Manhattan Monday morning, and police believe he may have been targeted.

The man was parked near 49th Street and Ninth Avenue when the gunman came up to the window of his white van and fired at least three shots.

The victim, described as a construction site maintenance supervisor in his 50s, was not seriously injured and was walking after he was shot. He appeared to have a graze wound and was taken to the hospital.

The suspect ran west from the scene and got into a waiting car, according to witnesses.

A law enforcement offiial says detectives are looking at whether a former employee shot the victim.
