Man, 62, Gets 25 Years in Bronx Killing of Prostitute

A 62-year-old man has been sentenced to at least 25 years in prison for stabbing a prostitute to death.

The Bronx district attorney's office says Lucius Crawford was sentenced Friday in the 1993 killing of Nella West. He pleaded guilty last month.

The sentence doesn't add any time to Crawford's stretch behind bars. He was convicted last year in the fatal knifing of his girlfriend in Westchester County, and the new sentence will run concurrently with the 25-to-life term he's serving in that case.

Crawford was arrested in 2012 when cold-case detectives, seeking to talk to him about West's killing, found his girlfriend's body in his bed.

Previously, Crawford spent about 30 years in prison for non-fatal stabbings of women in New York and South Carolina.
