Man Struck, Killed by New Jersey Transit Train

No passengers were aboard the Hoboken-bound Bergen County Line train at the time

New Jersey Transit says a man was struck and killed by a train in northern New Jersey.

NJ.com reports that the accident occurred around 1:40 p.m. Saturday, just east of the Broadway station near the border of Elmwood Park and Fair Lawn.

No passengers were aboard the Hoboken-bound Bergen County Line train at the time.

The name of the man killed was not disclosed, pending notification of relatives. Authorities were working to determine how the accident occurred.

Service on a stretch of the Bergen County line was suspended for about 75 minutes, but regular service had been restored by late Saturday afternoon.
