A 19-year-old man was fatally shot and two others wounded early Sunday in a residential neighborhood in Paterson, New Jersey, police said.
Officers found a wounded Kashan Sumpter at about 4 a.m. on a sidewalk at the corner of 12 Avenue and East 23rd Street, investigators said. He was taken to a nearby hospital, where he died, police said.
Two 22-year-old males were shot in the same incident and went to a hospital in a private vehicle. Their identities were not released by police, who said that one was treated and released and the other was undergoing surgery.
