Police say a Trenton man called in a phony bomb threat at the Mercer County Criminal Courthouse because he "had things to do."
Thirty-six-year-old Jermaine McCain is charged with making a false public alarm and placing a 911 call without an actual emergency.
Police tell NJ.com McCain called 911 last Thursday and threatened to detonate an explosive planted at the courthouse. It's unknown why McCain was headed to court in the first place.
After linking the bogus call to McCain, Mercer County sheriffs and the U.S. Marshals' Regional Fugitive Task Force located him in Bucks County, Pennsylvania Tuesday.
A high-speed chase ensued, ending when McCain crashed his vehicle in Penndel, Pennsylvania. He faces additional charges stemming from the chase.
It's not known if he has a lawyer.
