Man Attacks Elderly Parking Agent Over Ticket

Victim suffered injuries to his head, hand, knee and lower back.

A 43-year-old Long Island man attacked a parking agent for giving him a ticket, police say.

Fabian Lenis, of Great Neck Plaza, was arrested Saturday in the assault on a 70-year-old parking agent employed by the village.

Police say Lenis became enraged when the elderly parking agent issued him a ticket and pushed him, causing him to fall backwards and strike his head on the curb.

The unidentified victim was taken to a local hospital where he was treated and released for injuries to his head, left hand, left knee and lower back. The agent's electronic ticket writer was also damaged in the incident.

Lenis has been charged with two counts of second-degree assault and second-degree criminal mischief. He is scheduled to be arraigned Sunday in First District Court, Hempstead.

It wasn't immediately clear if Lenis had a lawyer.
