A 19-year-old New Jersey man has been arrested in the beating death of his 53-year-old father inside their home in a quiet New Jersey neighborhood Wednesday, authorities say.
Wesley Reason was attacked in his Broadview Avenue home in Maplewood around 2:30 a.m., officials say. He was pronounced dead about half an hour later.
His son, Alexander Reason, has been arrested in Wesley's death, authorities say. A motive is still under investigation.
The Essex County prosecutor's office says the preliminary cause of death is blunt force trauma, but the medical examiner will conduct an autopsy to confirm it.
