Driver Arrested in Bronx Hit-and-Run

The 19-year-old victim was initially taken to the hospital in critical condition, but has since been upgraded to stable condition

A driver who allegedly hit a man in the Bronx early Sunday was arrested when he returned to the scene after initially fleeing, police said.

Officials said the 19-year-old victim who was hit on Baychester Avenue in Co-op City around 3 a.m. was in critical condition when he was taken to the hospital, but has since been upgraded to stable condition.  

Charges are pending against the driver, who may operate a livery cab, police said.
