A 19-year-old man is facing charges of making a terroristic threat after he allegedly announced that he had explosives on a New Jersey Transit train, authorities said.

The man, whose name wasn't disclosed by Port Authority police, was taken into custody Monday evening after the train was stopped and searched by bomb-sniffing dogs.

About 800 people were aboard the North Jersey Coast Line train.

The man, who had been traveling with his father, was taken to an area hospital for a mental evaluation, police said.
