Police Search for Subway Attacker in Brooklyn

Police say a man sexually assaulted a woman at the Lorimer Street L subway station in Williamsburg. Tracie Strahan reports.

Police are looking for a man they say followed a woman out of a subway station in Brooklyn, where he sexually assaulted her on the stairs and took her cell phone.
 
The 22-year-old woman was leaving the Lorimer Street station on the L line at about 2:35 a.m. Sunday when she was followed and attacked.

 
The man is described as being in his 30s, about 5 feet 9 inches tall and 180 pounds, wearing a red hooded sweatshirt and dark pants.
 
Anyone with information about the assault is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477). The public can also submit tips at www.nypdcrimestoppers.com or by texting tips to 274637 (CRIMES) then enter TIP577.
