Long Island Woman Charged with Aggravated DWI: Police

A Long Island woman faces a charge of aggravated driving while intoxicated after being stopped in the hamlet of Yaphank by Suffolk County police, authorities said Saturday.

Colleen Lopez, 47, of Rocky Point, was charged Friday with aggravated DWI after officers determined she was driving under the influence of alcohol with a 13-year-old daughter in her 2003 Chevy Tahoe, police said. She was also charged with endangering the welfare of a child.

Lopez was stopped at 8:40 p.m. while driving on Patchogue Yaphank Road.

It was unclear whether Lopez had retained a lawyer.
