Long Island Woman Arrested in Car Crash That Kills Mother

Jessica Pistolese was behind of the wheel of a car that crashed into another car on the Montauk Highway Saturday afternoon

    A Long Island woman has been arrested for reckless driving after getting into a two-car crash that killed her 71-year-old mother.
     
    Suffolk County Police say Jessica Pistolese was behind of the wheel of a 2004 Chevy Malibu that crashed into another car on the Montauk Highway Saturday afternoon.

    They say Pistolese's mother Judith Rivera was in the front passenger seat of the car. Rivera was pronounced dead by the medical examiner's office.
     
    The 38-year-old Pistolese and the driver of the other car were treated and released from a local hospital for non life-threatening injuries.
     
    Pistolese was released on bail and given a desk appearance ticket. Her next court date is Nov. 4.

    Information on an attorney for Pistolese was not immediately available.
