Authorities Reconstructing Long Island Crash That Killed 4

Authorities are reconstructing last month's alleged drunk driving crash that killed four women touring the Long Island vineyards with friends, prosecutors tell NBC 4 New York.

State police and investigators with the Suffolk County District Attorney were at the Cutchogue intersection where a truck t-boned a limousine making a U-Turn on June 19, killing Brittney Schulman, Lauren Baruch, Stephanie Belli and Amy Grabina.

Four other women were hurt in the crash, along with the drivers of both the limousine and truck.

The truck’s driver, 58-year-old Steven Romero of Bethpage, was later arrested on drunk-driving charges.

The road where the cars crashed, Middle Road, was closed down for several hours. A white limousine was also seen at the crash site Thursday.

Prosecutors say that the reconstruction, which checks for speed and other factors that may have played a role in the crash, could help them determine whether upgraded charges could be presented to a grand jury in the case.
