Long Island Man Charged in Fatal DWI Crash: Police

A Long Island man was arrested on drunk driving charges after he crashed into a telephone pole, killing his passenger, police said.

Sean Ludwig, 42, was driving a 2013 Porsche on Rolling Hill Court East in Sag Harbor when he lost control and crashed into the pole, Southampton police said.

His passenger, 53-year-old Paul Hanson, died in the crash.

Ludwig was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated and leaving the scene of a fatal motor vehicle accident.

He will be arraigned Monday morning in Southampton Justice Court. It wasn’t clear if he had an attorney who could comment on the charges.
