A man is in custody after shots were fired Tuesday afternoon during a dispute between a landlord and tenant in Levittown, police said.
Hostage negotiators and special operations officers and trucks had surrounded the home on Carter Lane, where the gunman was holed up after allegedly firing a rifle after a dispute with his landlord, but the tenant surrendered without incident shortly before 5 p.m. after a two-hour standoff.
Nobody was hit when the shots were fired, but the landlord and a woman driving by in a car were struck by shattered glass. Both suffered minor injuries and refused medical treatment, police said.
The landlord had been trying to collect the rent when he got into an altercation with the long-time tenant, police said.
