A 74-year-old Queens woman was killed Thursday after she was hit by a truck on Long Island, according to police.
The Lake Success Police Department received a call at 10:45 a.m. about a person who had been struck by a vehicle on Lakeville Road near the Fresh Meadow Country Club.
The woman was taken to North Shore University Hospital in nearby Manhasset and eventually succumbed to her injuries.
The truck was stopped later in Manhasset and the driver is cooperating, police said.
It is unclear whether or not the woman worked at the country club.
Nassau County's homicide squad is handling the investigation.
Lakeville Road remained closed to traffic Thursday afternoon.
