Long Island EMT Charged With Sexual Abuse

The volunteer medical technician inappropriately touched a patient in an ambulance, police said

A Long Island EMT was arrested Wednesday, accused of sexually assaulting a woman who was being rushed to a local hospital.

Kristopher Kahl, 22, made inappropriate contact with the woman on Nov. 4 in Shirley inside an ambulance, police said. It happened when she was undergoing a physical assessment.

Kashl was working for the all-volunteer Mastic Ambulance Company at the time.

He was charged with third-degree sexual abuse Wednesday.

Calls to the ambulance company were not answered. It wasn't immediately clear whether Kahl had an attorney.
