A man was beaten to death less than a block from an NYPD station house, police said.
Police found the man unconscious with head trauma while responding to an assault call at 50th Avenue and Vernon Boulevard in Long Island City at about 2:30 a.m. Friday, right around the corner from the 108th Precinct station, according to the NYPD.
EMS workers were also called to the scene, and the man was taken to Bellevue Hospital. He was pronounced dead shortly after arriving at the hospital.
No arrests have been made in the case.
