Police say a New Jersey man has been arrested after he was found carrying a stolen cash register aboard a Long Island Rail Road train.

Suffolk County police say Cory Ford of Newark was arrested Tuesday morning as he was leaving a train at the Jamaica station with the cash register under his arm.

Police say it had been stolen a day earlier from a beauty salon in Patchogue.

According to Newsday, police say Ford removed the cash register from the store after breaking a window Monday night.

Ford was charged with burglary. He is to be arraigned on Wednesday. It wasn't immediately clear if he had a lawyer.
