Upstate NY Man Charged in Long Island Burglary Spree

Police have arrested an upstate New York man after six Long Island homeowners lost jewelry in a spate of burglaries late last year.

Spencer Williams, 51, of Clifton Park, is charged with six counts of second-degree burglary, Nassau County police say.

All the homes were broken into between Nov. 24 and Dec. 21, police say. Four homes in Great Neck were hit, along with one home each in Thomaston and Sands Point. In each burglary, jewelry was stolen.

Williams will be arraigned in Hempstead Tuesday. It’s not clear whether he has an attorney.
