Livery Cab Passenger Shot in Head Dies

Michael Magnan, 19, was arrested in connection with the shooting

A livery cab passenger who was shot in the head during an attempted robbery in Brooklyn over the weekend has died, police said.

Nikita Grebelskiy was shot Saturday morning when a man approached the cab at a red light and tried to rob the driver at gunpoint, authorities said.

The alleged shooter went on a wild rampage over the weekend in Flatlands before police took him into custody. Michael Magnan, 19, was charged with attempted murder in the shooting Sunday. The charges are expected to be upgraded to murder, authorities said.

Police said Magnan has previous arrests on charges of attempted murder, weapons possession, drug possession, possession of stolen property, bail jumping and failure to pay bus fare.
