A 35-year-old livery cab driver and father was shot and killed Monday in Brooklyn, according to officials.
Naji Fawaz was found shot in the front driver’s seat just after 12:21 a.m. at Decatur Street and Malcolm X Boulevard in Bedford-Stuyvesant, police and fire officials said.
Fawaz, who was shot in the neck and torso, was taken to Kings County Hospital, where he died.
The preliminary investigation indicates he may have been a robbery victim, police said.
A dispatcher for the company Fawaz worked for said that the 35-year-old was in the process of looking for a new apartment because the area he had lived in was dangerous.
New York State Federation of Taxi Drivers spokesman Fernando Mateo said the union was "saddened" by Fawaz' death.
