The former president of an upstate Little League is accused of embezzling several thousand dollars from the organization.

John Mirra resigned the presidency of the Goshen Little League in November 2007. The 53-year-old was arrested three months later following an investigation. Authorities said the new president became suspicious when Mirra failed to hand over financial documents in the wake of his resignation.

An Orange County grand jury handed up an indictment against Mirra Monday. He's charged with grand larceny, six counts of petty larceny and multiple counts of falsifying business records and issuing a false financial statement.

Mirra is due back in court for arraignment later this month.
