1. These Are the Worst Times to Drive on Memorial Day Weekend
If you're planning on traveling for Memorial Day, you may want to stay off the roads during certain times.
The navigation app Waze compiled the worst times to drive in the New York City area during the holiday weekend and found the early afternoon hours are the worst.
However, AAA says the worst time to travel is Friday afternoon between 3:30 and 6:30.

2. A Distillery Is Opening Up in Manhattan
For the very time since the Prohibition era, a distillery is bringing spirits back to Manhattan.
Yes, there are distilleries in Brooklyn, Long Island and other places in New York, but New York is bringing the very first one to Manhattan.
The vodka-centric distillery opens Friday in Chelsea.

3. Governors Island Extending Hours This Summer
You can now enjoy Governors Island for a few more hours.
The island will now stay open until 10 p.m. every Friday through September 14. Island Oysters, Governors Island's most popular restaurant will also stay open until 10 p.m. on Fridays.
Normally, the island closes at 6 p.m. on weekdays and 7 p.m. on weekends so these extra hours will allow visitors to enjoy all the island has to offer.
