Bus Strikes, Kills Woman in New Jersey

Children and a counselor were on the bus going to a summer camp, witnesses said

A yellow school bus struck and killed a woman in Bergen County Thursday morning, police say. 

The woman was hit in front of paint and hardware store in Leonia, police said.

Children and a counselor were on the bus going to a summer camp when the woman was hit, witnesses said.

Mayor John Desimone owns the Benjamin Moore's Hardware store. He said two kids ran into his store after the accident and the older child was visibly shaken.

Desimone said he would look at the safety of the intersection.
