L'Wren Scott, Mick Jagger's Girlfriend, Found Dead in Apparent Suicide: Sources

Scott was found dead in a Manhattan apartment Monday

L'Wren Scott, a fashion designer and celebrity stylist who was Mick Jagger's girlfriend, was found dead Monday in Manhattan of an apparent suicide, according to law enforcement sources.

Scott, a 6-foot-3 49-year-old former model, was found inside an apartment in Chelsea Monday. A law enforcement official said her assistant found her hanging from a doorknob. No note was found and there was no sign of foul play.

A rep for Jagger said he is shocked and devastated.

According to Frontier Touring Company, an Australian concert organizer, the Rolling Stones have canceled their next show, set for Wednesday. The band landed in Australia Saturday to start a new leg of the tour on Sunday, according to their YouTube channel.

Scott, a Utah native, first worked in Paris as a model and then moved to Los Angeles to become a stylist, her website says.

Her first collection launched in 2006, titled "Little Black Dress." She has dressed stars including Angelina Jolie, Sarah Jessica Parker and Nicole Kidman, and designed the dress that Oprah Winfrey wore for her finale episode.

In a statement, Madonna called Scott's death "a horrible and tragic loss."

Scott canceled her London Fashion Week show last month, due to reported production delays.
