The L train will not be running most weeknights between Manhattan and Brooklyn for six straight weeks this spring, part of long-planned infrastructure work, the MTA said.
From March 24 through May 22, the L train won't be running between 8th Avenue and Bedford Avenue from midnight to 5 a.m. Tuesdays through Fridays, the MTA confirmed.
Weekend closures had already been planned for the L train between 8th Avenue and Bedford Avenue from April 11 through May 18. Service will stop at midnight Saturday and resume 5 a.m. Monday during those weekends.
The track work is not related to Sandy; it's expected to improve infrastructure on a line that services the ever-growing Williamsburg and Bushwick neighborhoods in Brooklyn.
Shuttle buses and alternate train suggestions will be provided.
