Knife-Wielding Man Shot Dead by Police in Queens

Police shot a man who was armed with a knife in Queens, just moments after his mother called 911, police said Thursday.

Uniformed officers received an emergency call to a home in Ridgewood and were confronted by the man around 9:30 p.m. Wednesday, police said.

The officers fired their guns and struck the man several times. The man died at the scene.

The officers have been hospitalized for treatment of trauma and minor injuries.

The identity of the man hasn't been released but sources tell the Daily News he had a history of domestic disputes and prior arrests.
