Knife-Wielding Man Holds up Long Island Pharmacy, Gets Away With OxyContin: Police

A knife-wielding man robbed a pharmacy on Long Island for prescription pills Tuesday morning, police say.

Nassau County police say the unidentified man armed with a knife threatened a pharmacist inside the Twin Parks Pharmacy on Jericho Turnpike in Garden City Park just after 11 a.m and demanded OxyContin pills.

The worker complied and handed over the pills, police said. The man then took off.

There was one additional employee and no customers inside the pharmacy at the time of the robbery, and police said nobody was hurt in the hold up.

The suspect, who police described as being around 20-25 years old, was caught on surveillance footage. Police released the photos of him in the hopes of catching him.
