Kitten Found in Bag at Midtown Subway Station

The Animal Care and Control says the tabby will likely be put up for adoption

Authorities say a kitten abandoned two days ago inside a bag at a midtown subway station has been rescued.

The Animal Care and Control says the tabby will likely be put up for adoption.

Officials tell the New York Post that someone dropped off the bag near the turnstile of the Seventh Avenue station near West 53rd St. on Saturday.

They say the kitten's meowing was drowned out by the noise of the trains as riders rushed past the bag.

A passenger spotted the bag around 8 a.m. Monday and alerted a transit worker.
